About me
Hi Everyone,
I’m Sam Szuchan
I cover governance, political economy, history, and the ways culture and politics keep reshaping each other. The throughline is paradigms - how they get installed, how they hold, and what happens when they break.
Recurring subjects include elite circulation, housing economics, credential arms races, and the broader question of how cognitive infrastructure gets built. Sometimes a video game is the cleanest illustration of a framework. Sometimes a psychology paper.
I live in the Bay Area and make regular rotations to East and Southeast Asia. Before this I spent a decade building brands across more than twenty countries. I take on a small number of client projects each year alongside my own work.
